Responsibilities

• You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe.
• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site.
• Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises

• In this role, you will help protect employees, visitors, and site assets by following assignment instructions and maintaining the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness.
• The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the safe and secure day-to-day operations of a busy site environment🛡️ As a Security Officer, your key responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, fire, and intruder alarm systems, conducting both internal and external patrols, and preventing unauthorised access to the premises.
• You will also assist with traffic management and parking enforcement, carry out routine checks of security equipment, and manage key holding duties including locking and unlocking facilities.
• This is a hands-on role suited to someone proactive, attentive, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times.

Requirements

• A valid SIA licence
• Great customer service
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history
• Punctual and reliable
• Able to work weekends
• British nationality and UK residency for the past 5 years (due to site requirements)
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken

We’re Hiring

Security Officer! 📍 Location: Cambridge 💰 Pay: £13.23 per hour 📅 Hours: 24 hours per week working

Grade

• 3.1 Site Based You must be BPSS cleared before starting the role.
