Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
• Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.
• Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.
• Communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.
• What you will do Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients of all age groups.
• Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Follows ACR and Piedmont guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Demonstrates continued quality improvement and proficiency in all required skills.

Requirements

• Qualifications An approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or an approved Sonography Program by the ARRT.
• Required or No experience required 1 year of experience Preferred Must have and demonstrate a strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy Must be able to perform quality Ultrasound examinations in accordance with all Piedmont and ACR standards.
• Must deliver SAFE care in accordance with the Always Safe program.
• Must use AIDET with every encounter and be proficient with service recovery.
• ARDMS/ARRT(s) registry eligible
• Required and BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS), or ARDMS Business Unit : Company Name Piedmont Augusta Hospital
