Responsibilities

• Embrace the autonomy and variety of hospice care while collaborating directly with our clinical team.

Lead and assist patients in music therapy interventions

• Reduce symptoms like anxiety, depression, isolation, agitation, etc. through music
• Educate the clinical team on music therapy appropriateness and contraindications
• Maintain accurate records (clinical notes, charts, coordination notes) within 24 hours of sessions and update as needed

Requirements

• Bachelors or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program
• Must be Board Certified as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
• Musical intelligence with a variety of instrument experience
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort providing specialized care to the terminally ill
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow all safety rules and regulations (Vulnerable Adult/Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to Know)
• Valid Driver’s license
