Responsibilities

• Works with providers, staff, patients, referring physicians and insurance companies to obtain the appropriate referrals and prior authorizations for necessary treatment for the patient.
• Performs all scheduling of surgical procedures; answering, directing and prioritizing telephone calls appropriately; effective communication; and clerical duties as assigned.
• Serves as a liaison between patients and medical support staff.
• Establish and maintain a positive attitude with patients, visitors, and fellow employees by helping each other in areas when needed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the age-specific competencies and the skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age and demographic served.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of healthcare experience or other related experience preferred.
• Experience working with providers and insurance companies to receive prior authorization.
• Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prefer 3 years work experience, preferably in medical office setting or hospital.
• Microsoft Office experience such as Outlook, Word, Excel; preferably experience on an electronic medical record.

Preferred

• Candidates with previous scheduling experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures strongly preferred.

Pay

The expected pay for this position is listed below: $17.99 - $22.48 The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
