As a veterinary assistant , you’ll support our doctors and hospital team throughout the patient-care process.

About Alliance Animal Health

Fairview Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive small animal practice in Ellenwood, Georgia, just south of Atlanta.

Our hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care, including preventative care, internal medicine, surgery, laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, high-speed dentistry, digital full-body and dental radiology, ultrasonography, and vacation boarding.

Responsibilities

• Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
• Assisting with patient intake and triage
• Obtaining and documenting medical histories
• Collecting and processing laboratory samples
• Assisting with diagnostic imaging and radiographs
• Providing nursing care for hospitalized patients with varying levels of stability
• Administering medications as directed
• Preparing patients for surgery and assisting during procedures
• Supporting anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery

Communicating treatment plans and recommendations clearly with clients

• Keeping treatment and patient-care areas clean, organized, and ready for the next patient A successful veterinary assistant is comfortable multitasking, communicating with both clients and coworkers, and stepping in wherever help is needed.
• You’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of cases and gain experience across multiple areas of veterinary medicine.
• We’re especially interested in a veterinary assistant who is: Compassionate, calm, and patient-focused A dependable team player and strong communicator
• Confident with safe and appropriate pet restraint
• Able to multitask and prioritize effectively A self-starter who takes initiative

Preferred

• We’re seeking a veterinary assistant with at least one year of veterinary experience preferred.
• Experience with animal restraint, sample collection, medical histories, laboratory testing, radiographs, surgical assistance, or anesthesia monitoring is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a busy veterinary hospital

Pay

$14 to $18 per hour
