The Patient Care Technician, under the supervision and/or direction of a Registered Nurse, performs various duties assisting nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established nursing standards. The Patient Care Technician functions in an expanded role after meeting pre-established educational and certification criteria in the performance of at least three (3) key skill roles. These roles include Nursing Assistance, Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician, Phlebotomy, and EKG.

Responsibilities

• Computer order entry.
• Transcribing of physician orders.Prioritizes.Reports.Departmental.Collects adequate and correct blood/urine specimens from patients as ordered by physicians, using proper technique and equipment.
• Correctly labels specimens and processes.
• Ensures appropriate delivery of specimens to the lab via courier or specimen pick up from outside agencies.

Pay

• Entry USD $17.25/Hr.
• Max USD $26.74/Hr.
