Surgical Tech-Operating Room

Surgical Tech-OR Full Time I First Shift Operating Room I Lexington, KY $15,000 Sign on Bonus Available for Qualified Individuals. Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Performs scrub functions and other roles, which support the perioperative plan of care Demonstrates knowledge of operative procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes principles of aseptic technique including but not limited to gowning, gloving sterilization, and disinfection.
• Actively participates in unit activities.
• Ensures positive customer relations interactions.

Requirements

• On call weekends, weeknights, and holidays by rotation.
• Technical Diploma; Associate degree.
• (Surgical Tech Program) Completion of a Surgical Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
