Join True Anomaly, a company dedicated to delivering decisive capabilities for space superiority. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Digital Engineering team, you will build and own major parts of our in-house software, working closely with users and shaping the patterns the rest of the team builds on. This role offers real ownership, a fast-paced environment, and the opportunity to make a significant impact on national security space operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and build full-stack features and services end to end, including data model, services and APIs, workflow, and web user interface.
- Lead projects from scoping through delivery, breaking down work and keeping it moving, and carry out parts of migrations from off-the-shelf tools to in-house software.
- Mentor early-career engineers through pairing, code review, and design feedback, and work directly with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing users to understand real workflows.
Requirements
- Cloud fluency (e.g., AWS) and working knowledge of CI/CD and security fundamentals
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record shipping and operating production applications and services
Clear written communication, including technical design documents
- Experience leading a project or feature area from design through delivery
- Experience operating software in production, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response
- U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. Person) as required under ITAR
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, TypeScript)
- Experience building user-facing web applications end to end — from data model and APIs to a modern front end (e.g., TypeScript, React)
- Solid experience with API design, relational data modeling, and reliably moving data between systems
- Experience with event-driven architectures and system-integration patterns
- Experience building, extending, or integrating PLM, ERP, manufacturing execution (MES), requirements/ALM, or MBSE systems
- Experience with versioned, auditable records and end-to-end traceability
- Experience with Go, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and GitOps
- Strong product sense and experience working directly with engineering, manufacturing, or operations users
- Background in aerospace, defense, or another regulated, hardware-driven domain
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
Preferred
- Experience migrating users and data from an off-the-shelf system to in-house software
