• Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable systems within a team or product area, contributing to the evolution of technical architecture and engineering patterns.
• Build and optimize continuous delivery pipelines, improving deployment speed and reliability, and collaborate across teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, design discussions, and collaborative problem-solving, and contribute to the definition and improvement of team-level engineering practices.

• Proven ability to make informed tradeoffs balancing cost, scalability, security, and maintainability
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles and the ability to apply them effectively within team scope
• Effective communicator who can influence decisions and translate complex technical concepts clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-based services
• Strong working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD automation
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and deep expertise in at least one technology domain
• Consistent track record of delivering end-to-end solutions independently, from design through production
• Proven track record of applying observability and APM tooling, performance monitoring, and CDN/edge delivery practices to improve system reliability and speed, and contributing to code quality, design consistency, and operational reliability across the team
• Deep fluency in TypeScript across API services and full-stack web applications, including strong typing practices that enforce correctness across API boundaries
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and adopt AI coding tools (such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, or Copilot) to raise team throughput and reduce toil, while maintaining a high review and quality bar
