Alva is hiring multiple engineers to strengthen our FiberPrinting™ team - the people behind designing, building, and testing our line of FiberPrinters: advanced, custom-built machines that produce the stators used in Alva motors.
You’ll be working with the core technology Alva is built on. This is a highly interdisciplinary role blending different fields of engineering. You’ll join a hands-on team that thrives on rapid prototyping, open collaboration, and continuous learning.
About Alva Industries
- FiberPrinting™ is what allows Alva to make some of the thinnest motors in the world.
- Our frameless design lets customers integrate stators and rotors directly into their systems - reducing mechanical complexity and saving space.
- Our portfolio of frameless electric motors is expanding rapidly across multiple industries.
Responsibilities
- We emphasize early prototyping and practical testing to validate ideas and guide development.
- This allows us to identify challenges early and refine solutions before committing to detailed designs.
- Software development, machine vision and machine learning Design, build, and test custom machine vision applications.
- Create custom datasets to train and validate machine learning models using available tools.
- Develop and iterate the physical systems alongside the software to optimize the solutions.
- Communicate and demonstrate the possibilities and limitations of different methods.
- Apply these solutions to the production floor, enabling inline measurements, process monitoring, and defect detection during stator production.
- Designing, building and testing machines Design mechanical systems and components - from minor upgrades to entirely new production machines.
- Take ideas from whiteboard sketches to working prototypes, building and testing them in our workshop.
- Develop prototypes into reliable production machines as Alva scales manufacturing.
- Develop and improve automation, motion control, and machine integration.
- Investigate and improve machine stability, performance, and reliability.
