Senior Counsel (Product & Privacy)

Join Together AI as a Senior Counsel (Product & Privacy) and help build the legal and compliance foundation behind our AI infrastructure and products. You will work closely with various teams, including Product, Engineering, Research, Security, Infrastructure, and Sales, to ensure legal considerations are integrated into our offerings. This role requires a strong background in product and privacy law, as well as a curiosity about AI technology.

• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to shape new AI offerings with legal considerations.
• Draft and maintain customer-facing product terms, and advise on legal issues unique to AI infrastructure.
• Build and operate an export controls and sanctions compliance program suited to a company handling advanced compute and AI technologies.

• Demonstrated experience advising product and engineering teams and drafting product terms
• A plain-spoken style that makes legal and technical points accessible to non-lawyers
• Desire for learning and building with AI tools so you can operate self-sufficiently and at speed
• A JD and an active bar license in good standing
• Working knowledge of export controls (EAR/OFAC), ideally including building or scaling a compliance program
• Hands-on experience with global privacy law and running or substantially contributing to a privacy program
• 7+ years of experience at a top law firm and/or in-house at a technology company, ideally cloud, infrastructure, semiconductors, SaaS, or AI
• Experience with technology and IP licensing, including open-source licenses
• Comfort working independently in a small, fast-moving legal team, with sound instincts for what to own, what to escalate, and when to bring in specialized outside counsel
• Strong judgment, a pragmatic risk-based approach, and the ability to give clear, business-oriented advice
• Familiarity with AI/ML legal issues, such as model licensing, training data, AI regulation, and responsible use
• Experience at a high-growth startup or scaling a legal function from early stage
• Privacy certifications (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM)
• Technical fluency, with comfort discussing GPUs, inference systems, APIs, and cloud architecture
