Senior Revenue Accountant

Join Sonar, a dynamic and high-growth software company, as a Senior Revenue Accountant. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of Sonar's worldwide revenue recognition processes. You will lead aspects of the monthly and quarterly accounting for complex revenue-related areas, coach junior team members, and contribute to the transformation and growth of the accounting function. Your impact will be critical in providing reliable financial reporting, facilitating informed business decisions, and maintaining Sonar's financial integrity as it scales.

Responsibilities

• Meticulously execute and lead aspects of the monthly and quarterly accounting for complex revenue-related areas, consistently adhering to US GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules across revenue-related areas under both US GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
• Lead process improvement and transformation initiatives that strengthen reporting quality, efficiency, scalability, and controls.

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site, collaborate across teams, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is expected
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness, along with proficiency in accounting software and Excel, is desirable
• 6+ years of experience in Revenue Accounting, preferably in software
• Extensive experience using Aptitude RevStream, SFDC, NetSuite and Stripe
