Laboratory Technician (DRA)

OMC is recruiting for a Lab Tech at our Mineral Park Mine. This role will be a DRA employee working in conjunction with the OMC team. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting a variety of chemical and metallurgical analytical procedures to support lab operations.

Responsibilities

• This role involves handling sensitive laboratory equipment, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and effectively managing daily activities to achieve business goals.
• Perform routine analysis testing and operate laboratory equipment.
• Collect samples from multiple sites and prepare them for analysis using appropriate techniques.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Order supplies, track reagent consumption, and manage inventory of critical lab parts and chemicals.
• Support plant operators as needed and provide technical assistance to staff and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards, including MSHA requirements, and participate in the review and update of laboratory safety procedures.
• Manage laboratory cleanup and routine reagent preparation as directed.
• Identify materials and equipment needed to maintain continuous operation.
• Assist with the analysis of blast hole samples for copper and molybdenum determination.
• Must be able to work a rotating schedule.
• Lab operates 24/7/365.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge in math, chemistry, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and commitment to safe work practices.
• Valid driver's license required. #LI-DNP
