The 1st shift Assembly Technician is an entry-level position focused on building, assembling, and packaging industrial compressor equipment across various production areas.

Responsibilities

  • This role offers hands-on training with opportunities for skill development and cross training.
  • Duties & Responsibilities Assemble, disassemble, and package mechanical components and compressor units for shipment.
  • Operate production equipment, shop machinery, surface preparation tools, and material handling equipment (e.g., cranes, saws).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to complete tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, wearing required PPE in dynamic shop environments.
  • Perform additional shop duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • & Skills High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or mechanical trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC); steel or fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read blueprints, use simple math, and take accurate tape measure readings.
  • Proficiency with standard hand and power tools (employee must provide basic personal tool set).
  • Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, initiative, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., reach, pull, climb, and perform labor in non-climate-controlled industrial settings.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
