Sanitation Technician

Responsible for completely cleaning and sanitizing the plant quickly and efficiently during relatively short time periods between the plant’s normal production shifts.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize processing equipment and processing areas of the plant, to meet quality control and sanitation standards.
• Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment and processing facilities.
• Prevent cross contamination of product, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.
• Follow all company Sanitation SOPs (SSOP) for cleaning equipment and facility.
• Perform pre- inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval.
• Complete all required sanitation and SQF documentation.
• Washes and maintains cleaning carts and tools.
• Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, foamers, cleaning equipment and tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.
• Quality Assurance Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
• Adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies.
• Health & Safety Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.
• Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations following chemical handling SSOP.
• Wear appropriate person protective equipment (PPE) while perform cleaning tasks.

Requirements

• Education and/ or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Must be able to follow instructions in English.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Self- Directed Time Management control Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
• Follows all GMPs, Food Safety, SSOPs per assignments.
• Must be able to use Step ladder/Ladder Other Skills and Physical Demands Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting in safe manner.
• Ability to interact professionally with honesty and respect towards Management, coworkers.
• Required to work 3rd shift, though hours may change due to demand, including weekends, or holidays.
• Able to lift-up to 50lbs.

Preferred

• Sanitation experience preferred.
