Qualia, a fast-growing SaaS company, as a Technical Accounting Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for technical accounting, financial reporting, and providing deal support from due diligence through post-close integration.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with various departments and report to the Controller.
  • Key responsibilities include researching and documenting complex accounting matters, drafting technical accounting memos, owning financial statements, advising on complex accounting topics, and leading purchase accounting activities.
  • You will also support the monthly closes, assist with complex account reconciliations, and help ensure compliance with ASC 606.
  • Research and document complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP, draft and maintain technical accounting memos and accounting policy documentation.
  • Lead purchase accounting activities under ASC 805, including valuation coordination, opening balance sheet review, and transaction accounting.
  • Support the monthly closes, eg financial reviews, variance analysis, assist with complex account reconciliations.
  • Proven track record of researching complex accounting matters, drafting technical accounting documentation, and advising leadership on accounting implications
  • Comfort with ambiguity, adaptability to dynamic priorities, and ability to lead ad-hoc special projects outside standard accounting responsibilities
  • AI-forward: Actively uses AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) to accelerate documentation, testing, and evidence workflows; both experimenting, and ultimately operationalizing

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of ASC 805 (purchase accounting) is required
  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with ASC 606 is required
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience and CPA are required
  • Big 4 public accounting or equivalent national firm experience is required

Preferred

  • Previous consulting, audit, or industry experience with SaaS, fintech, or payments companies is required
