Working Student | Battery & Data Analytics (m/f/d)

Twaice

As renewable energy reshapes the global power system, batteries are taking center stage. Making them safe, reliable, and bankable at scale is a defining challenge of the energy transition. At TWAICE, our software turns battery data into insights - so decisions are made with confidence, not guesswork.

Working Student | Battery & Data Analytics (m/f/d), you'll work hands-on alongside experienced data and engineering professionals, right at the intersection of data and real-world impact. You'll help evaluate and improve the performance and safety of battery energy storage systems used around the globe - all while getting real exposure to live operational data and the technology powering our platform.

About Twaice

  • We're accelerating the transition into a new energy era and we're looking for those who want to move fast with us.
  • Real impact on the energy transition, with your work used on battery storage systems worldwide

Follow along

  • Working at TWAICE means solving problems that don't have a playbook yet. We're still early in the energy transition, which means a lot of what we build is new.
  • We're a global remote-first team that champions collaboration and adaptability to do our best work.
  • If that sounds like an environment where you can thrive, join us!

Responsibilities

  • Working hours are flexible (especially around exam periods). Ideally, you're available around 20 hours per week and able to come into our central Munich HQ on a regular basis.

Bringing new projects onto our platform

  • Connecting data from operational battery storage sites to the TWAICE cloud
  • Building digital twins of BESS in our data model
  • Running data quality checks so the data our analyses rely on is solid

Analyzing real-world battery systems on demand

  • Making sense of power and data flows in battery energy storage systems
  • Running big-data analyses, using AI tools and techniques, to evaluate the performance and safety of BESS around the globe

Shaping our analytics

  • Contributing to the development of TWAICE’s algorithms and data pipelines
  • If you’re interested, joining customer meetings to see how your analyses make a difference

Requirements

  • Studying engineering, physics, data science, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of batteries and a passion for renewables
  • Confident using Python to clean, transform, and analyze data
  • Curious, proactive, and hands-on when solving problems
  • Bonus: experience with BESS, Databricks, SQL, or AWS

Benefits

  • Hands-on work with live data from real battery systems, not toy datasets
  • Responsibility from day one and a steep learning curve

Learning from experienced data scientists and engineers

  • An international team in a fast-growing climate tech scale-up
  • Flexible hours that fit around your exams, plus a hybrid setup
  • Central Munich office with views of the Alps and free coffee
  • Wellpass membership
