R&D Engineer

Join our growing R&D team as a 3D Printing R&D Engineer. In this role, you will develop and maintain the Formlabs printing process, create new 3D printing techniques, and tackle complex problems across multiple engineering disciplines. You will perform experiments, evaluate current printer performance, and partner with other engineering teams to implement improvements. A background in engineering, experience with experiment design and data analysis, and familiarity with mechanical design and programming are required.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or PhD in an engineering field (all are welcome)
• Have experience with experiment design and data analysis to inform design decisions

Familiar with mechanical design, mechatronics, and CAD modeling

• Questions assumptions and are willing to back it up with data
• Understand programming and scientific computing, ideally Python or Matlab
• Able to design and build test fixtures for experiments
• A website or portfolio document showing off your current and past projects

Preferred

• Familiarity with manufacturing, regulatory, or product standards and compliance in industries like healthcare, pharma, or life sciences
• Experience with 3D printing technologies and materials
