Join our team as a Staff Product Manager for AI & Developer Experience. In this role, you will set the strategy for how AI is integrated into dbt, a leading data transformation tool. You will own the vision, roadmap, and outcomes for the end-to-end developer workflow, including the Studio IDE, Developer Agent, Cloud CLI, and dbt VS Code Extension. This is a high-impact role with direct influence on company direction and the opportunity to shape the future of developer experience in the data analytics space.

We are looking for someone who is both strategic and hands-on: a leader who can define where AI-native developer tooling is going, and who is deeply passionate about AI agents and what it takes to build them well

Background in open source or strong engagement with developer communities

USD 243,936 - 304,920

Responsibilities

  • Experience turning user research and developer feedback into prioritized, well-scoped product work

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including a track record of owning strategy and roadmap for developer platforms at scale

Comfort working asynchronously on a distributed, remote team

  • Direct experience owning developer environment products, with an informed point of view on what makes development tools excellent and where modern IDEs fall short
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, from crisp specs to executive-level narratives
  • Hands-on experience with AI agents. You have built, shipped, or led agentic features (multi-step LLM workflows, tool use, context management, evaluation), and you are passionate about the space. You use AI coding assistants daily and have strong, well-reasoned opinions about what works and what doesn’t
  • A strong technical foundation: you can reason about system architecture, engage deeply with engineers, and contribute to technical decisions
  • A history of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing without authority, including across platform and product team boundaries
  • Experience building or shipping AI agent products at the frontier, such as agentic UX, evaluation frameworks, or agent orchestration

Preferred

  • Familiarity with LSP, tree-sitter, or other IDE infrastructure primitives
  • Hands-on experience with dbt or similar SQL-first transformation frameworks
  • Experience with CLI tooling and developer workflow automation
  • Knowledge of modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift) and the analytics engineering ecosystem
