Senior Software Engineer (Payment)

OKX, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, as a Senior Software Engineer in our Payments Team. You will design and build high-scale APIs and distributed payment services, expand our global reach by integrating new payment channels, and protect user assets by building for correctness.

This role offers the opportunity to gain deep knowledge of global payment methods and channels, experience in a regulated, high-stakes domain, and a track record of shipping at real scale.

Design and build the core payment infrastructure, developing high-scale APIs and distributed payment services.

Responsibilities

• You will also set the technical bar for the team, solve complex distributed-systems challenges, and partner across functions.
• Integrate and scale new payment channels and methods across global markets, ensuring technical and operational reliability.
• Participate actively in design and code reviews, setting the technical bar for the engineering team and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software development experience, with a proven track record of building and operating high-availability, large-scale applications
• Strong engineering fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and software design patterns — and the judgment to know when to reach for which
• Strong written and verbal communication. You can explain a complex technical trade-off to an engineer and to a non-technical stakeholder, and land it with both
• Ability to drive cross-team collaboration, managing complex dependencies and competing requirements without losing momentum
• Ownership instinct. You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tickets. When something's broken or unclear, you move toward it
• Genuine interest in crypto or fintech, and in building things that make money move better
