Join Fullscript, a company dedicated to transforming patient care. As an Engineering Manager for Patient Experience, you will lead the development of Care Mode, a platform that enhances the connection between patients and their care teams. This role combines engineering leadership, product thinking, and people leadership, allowing you to shape both the technical and product foundations of Care Mode. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, set technical direction, and establish a high bar for technical and product quality.

Establish a high bar for technical and product quality, bringing structure and momentum to ambiguous problems.

We’re looking for a builder with high agency, strong judgment, and a fundamentally optimistic view of what technology can make possible

Care about outcomes, not simply output

About Fullscript

  • Default to action. When something is unclear, narrow the problem, propose a path, and move — then adjust with data
  • Challenge direction thoughtfully when something doesn’t feel right—and help create a better path
  • You’re equally comfortable asking “What should we build?” and “How should we build it?”
  • Deep experience building successful consumer-facing web and/or mobile products, where engagement, retention, usability, and product quality were central to the experience
  • An ability to challenge people constructively and leave teams stronger and more energized as a result

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Patient Experience pod, shaping the technical and product foundations of Care Mode.
  • Stay hands-on in system design, code reviews, and solving difficult technical problems while creating conditions for a strong team.
  • Take ownership beyond the boundaries of your formal scope

Requirements

  • Enforce a high bar on reliability and trust: bug discipline, instrumentation, dogfooding. Quality is non-negotiable; so is shipping
  • Are comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving forward with incomplete information
  • Experience building and operating high-scale applications, with a strong appreciation for reliability, performance, maintainability, and user trust
  • Strong technical judgment and an ability to communicate why a decision matters, not simply what should be built
  • Strong product instincts and the ability to connect engineering decisions to the experience they create for users
  • A track record of owning difficult, non-obvious technical problems with meaningful product and user impact
  • Significant experience building and leading software products end-to-end, from early concepts through iteration and operation at scale
  • Comfort moving between hands-on engineering and engineering leadership—sometimes within the same day
  • Multiple years of engineering management experience, with a clear commitment to people leadership while remaining deeply technical and close to the work
  • Experience designing for moments when users may be overwhelmed, disengaged, or uncertain about what to do next
  • Strong instincts around responsiveness, fast feedback loops, perceived performance, and the details that make software feel lightweight and intuitive
  • Experience building consumer experiences that proactively give users a reason to return—through timely, relevant, personalized, or context-aware interactions that reduce effort and sustain engagement over time
  • Fluency with modern AI-assisted engineering workflows and tools, with strong judgment about how to use AI to explore options, challenge assumptions, accelerate implementation, and improve technical decision-making
  • Experience with React, React Native, Rails, GraphQL, Apollo. Specific technologies matter less than depth of technical thinking and craftsmanship
  • A track record of raising quality bars, not simply increasing velocity
  • Experience building products in regulated, safety-sensitive, or high-trust domains
