Senior / Staff Software Engineer (Learned Trajectory Machine Learning Engineer)

Zoox, a company dedicated to revolutionizing transportation through autonomous vehicles. As a Senior/Staff Software Engineer on the Prediction & Behavior ML team, you will develop machine learning algorithms that predict and influence driving behavior. You will collaborate closely with various teams to advance overall vehicle behavior and validate driving performance. Your work will involve developing deep learning models, estimating the quality of driving plans, and leveraging large-scale machine learning infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep learned models that produce trajectories for vehicles to drive, using imitation learning and reinforcement learning.
• Collaborate closely with the Planner and Perception teams to advance overall vehicle behavior and ensure tight integration of behavior prediction and motion planning.
• Leverage large-scale machine learning infrastructure to discover new solutions and push the boundaries of the field, while developing metrics and tools to analyze errors.
• Experience with training and deploying transformer-based model architectures and reinforcement learning

Requirements

• Fluency in Python with a basic understanding of C++
• Strong mathematics skills
• Extensive experience with programming and algorithm design
• BS, MS, or PhD degree in computer science or related field

Preferred

• Experience with production Machine Learning pipelines: dataset creation, training frameworks, metrics pipelines
• Conference or Journal publications in Machine Learning or Robotics related venues
• Prior experience with Prediction and/or autonomous vehicles or robotics in general
