Software Engineer (CDN Configuration Group)

Cloudflare's Engineering team as a Software Engineer in the CDN Configuration Group. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end configuration ecosystem across our edge platform, delivering a coherent, safe, highly performant, and resilient experience for customers. You will collaborate with skilled software professionals, architecting services that allow users to prototype, execute, evaluate, and discard tailored traffic rules. Responsibilities

• Architecting services that let users seamlessly prototype, execute, evaluate, and discard tailored traffic rules, ensuring optimal alignment with their operational requirements.
• Directly interfacing with distributed edge platforms, partnering with cross-functional groups to streamline and fortify our global infrastructure.
• Solid competencies in practical computer science, applying the right algorithms, data structures, concurrency control systems to software design, and building large, distributed systems
• Experience operating production systems safely — deployment, rollout, rollback, and observability

Requirements

• Driving communication and consensus across teams
• Experience of languages: Rust, Go
• Distributed systems, and distributed configuration or state-distribution systems

Preferred

• Knowledge of web servers and web protocols
• Experience with safe deployment: progressive rollout, versioning/snapshots, CI/CD
• Web security issues and industry standards
