Senior Software Engineer (Cards)

Chime, a leading fintech company, as a Senior Software Engineer in the Cards organization. In this role, you will work on high-impact projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the evolution of our Cards portfolio. You will drive technical design and architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and build robust APIs and backend services.

Responsibilities

• Additionally, you will improve platform reliability and performance, evolve our experimentation and policy lifecycle capabilities, and participate in on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Curiosity and passion for diving deeply into system architectures and technical challenges
• Experience with transactional databases and caching systems

An appreciation of maintainable and well-tested code

• Prior experience serving as a technical lead for a team and on complex projects—driving architectural decisions, coordinating execution, and aligning cross-functional teams
• Proven experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks
• Deep understanding of architectural patterns for large-scale web applications
• 5+ years of experience developing software in a production environment at scale

Preferred

• Experience in fast-paced or early-stage environments is a strong plus
