Senior Software Engineer (Design Systems)

Join Thumbtack, a platform that connects people with local service professionals. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Design Systems team, you will build an AI-assisted pipeline that moves product work from design to shipped code. You will work closely with product designers, developer experience, and frontend infrastructure to create a first-class design-to-code workflow. This is a greenfield project, and you will have the opportunity to shape the design-to-code system from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Concevoir et mettre en œuvre des workflows assistés par l'IA qui déplacent le travail entre Figma, les prototypes et notre code de frontend de production.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex, and considered opinions about their limits, where they help, and how to scale them beyond personal use

Requirements

• A track record of building tools and infrastructure that other engineers or non-engineers actually adopted, with judgment about onboarding, documentation, and the feedback loops that make adoption stick
• Demonstrated experience as a frontend engineer building production product surfaces, with the systems-thinking instincts to reason about tooling, workflows, and platforms as well as features
• Design system experience is welcome but not required; front-end engineering and AI tooling fluency are the load-bearing skills

6+ years of industry experience in software engineering

• Deep hands-on fluency with the modern web stack: TypeScript, React, and the build, test, and deploy tools that surround them
• Strong cross-functional collaboration instincts, comfortable working closely with designers, PMs, and partner engineering teams as your primary users
