Senior Software Engineer (Session Replay)

Grafana Labs as a Senior Software Engineer in the Session Replay squad. You'll be instrumental in building a new Grafana Cloud product that enhances user experience and aids in faster investigation of production issues.

Responsibilities

• Your role will encompass end-to-end technical direction, backend architecture evolution, investigation workflow design, and cross-product collaboration.
• You'll work with technologies like Go, TypeScript, React, and various data storage solutions.

• Ownership of the end-to-end technical direction for Session Replay, including frontend, backend, and data systems.
• Driving the evolution of the backend architecture, including designing systems around columnar/analytical data storage for large-scale session data.
• Leading the design of investigation workflows, connecting replay with logs, metrics, traces, and other telemetry across Grafana Cloud.

• Ability to reason about data-intensive systems (ingestion, storage, querying, cost trade-offs)
• You have a good understanding of a software development process that takes a user-centered approach. You easily build an understanding of the users’ context and goals which will help you build the right solution with the maximum value

Preferred

• Familiarity with privacy, security, and access control in data-heavy systems
• Experience building debugging or developer-focused tools
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, Sentry, etc.)
• Experience with columnar/analytical databases
• Experience working on performance-sensitive systems (large datasets, real-time queries, session data)
