Senior Backend Developer

Join Snowprint, a game development studio, as a Senior Backend Developer. In this role, you will work on the backend systems that power Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus. You will build new features, improve existing systems, and take ownership of parts of the infrastructure that keep the game running. You will collaborate with fellow developers, designers, and other disciplines to shape technical solutions and solve problems as they arise. The position offers work-from-home flexibility, 6 weeks of paid vacation, health insurance, and participation in the Employee Option Program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborer avec d'autres développeurs, designers et autres disciplines pour façonner des solutions techniques et résoudre les problèmes au fur et à mesure qu'ils surviennent.
• You’re comfortable with the realities of live development, including troubleshooting production issues, participating in on-call work, and balancing immediate problems with longer-term improvements

Requirements

• You have hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS, and are comfortable owning and maintaining cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code
• You’re an experienced backend developer with a strong professional background in building and operating live services. Experience from gaming is highly relevant, particularly from live games or LiveOps environments
• You’re fluent in Java and/or Kotlin and comfortable designing and building robust backend systems. You know how to work in an environment where you need to make decisions, move quickly, and evolve existing systems as requirements change
• You’re self-directed and collaborative. You communicate clearly, can explain the reasoning behind your technical decisions, and are comfortable working with people from different disciplines. You enjoy learning, solving new problems, and improving both the systems you work on and how the team works
