Join the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) as a Senior Java Engineer in Fort Mill. You will be responsible for the development of a new Index platform, collaborating with global teams, and ensuring high-quality products. You should have 10+ years of backend software engineering experience, expertise in core Java and Python, and a strong understanding of software design and development.

Design, develop, and maintain complex Java and Python-based applications and services, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.

Support the organisation’s AI adoption journey. Develop and enhance intelligent solutions using LLMs, LangChain/LangGraph, and agentic AI frameworks

Building highly distributed, data intensive systems

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement sophisticated algorithms, and deliver outstanding products.
  • Lead individual project priorities, perform code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide Level 3 production support.
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitLab), DevOps automation
  • Establish engineering best practices for safe, scalable, traceable and production ready AI deployments across internal platforms and external product suites

Requirements

  • Good command of coding standards and Strong understanding of both high level and low level software design
  • Prior exposure to Level 3 production support
  • 10+ years of hands-on backend software engineering experience
  • Expertise in:
  • Core Java, Python
  • Docker, Kubernetes
  • Strong algorithms, data structures, problem solving skills, and ability to translate business problems into scalable solutions
  • JVM profiling & performance optimisation
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team of engineers
  • Experience within financial services or with financial market data

Preferred

  • RDBMS (Oracle/SQL Server/Postgres)
  • Microservices, REST APIs

Familiarity with in-memory caching, Spring Boot, Redis, Kafka

  • Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, JBehave, or Karate
  • Background as a Scrum Master or experience running Agile teams
