Join Mous, a fast-growing company in the consumer electronics industry, as a Junior Design Engineer. This entry-level position is perfect for recent engineering or product design graduates who are eager to start a hands-on career in product development. You will work closely with experienced design engineers and industrial designers, gaining valuable exposure to the full product lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include creating CAD models, assisting in prototyping, contributing to technical problem-solving, and collaborating with international production teams.
We're looking for someone excited to start their career in product development, with a genuine interest in how great products are designed, tested and manufactured
Open to occasional international travel to our manufacturing partners in Asia
Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of new product concepts through to manufacture, including creating and iterating CAD models and technical drawings.
- Assist in prototyping, managing in-house builds, and coordinating with external vendors, contributing to technical problem-solving during development and testing.
- Collaborate closely with international production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality, and assist in continuous improvement of internal design processes and documentation.
- You manage your time effectively, take ownership of your own tasks, and are comfortable asking questions as you build your technical foundation
Requirements
- You're proactive, curious, and eager to learn from others, while confident enough to bring your own ideas to the table
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Manufacturing Engineering
Experience in CAD modelling, preferably SolidWorks
- Good understanding of the product development process from concept to production
- Comfortable using Excel and analysing design and test data
- Proactive and curious, with the confidence to bring your own ideas forward
- Self-motivated and organised by owning your assigned tasks and flags blockers quickly
Strong communication and time management skills
- Genuinely hands-on: happy building prototypes, measuring parts and running test rigs, not just modelling on screen
- Some exposure to manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, CNC or thermoforming
Preferred
Enthusiasm to learn new testing methods
- Experience with prototyping methods (3D printing, CNC) and product validation testing (drop, abrasion, fit, QC approval)
- A personal project, placement or coursework involving physical product development
- Adobe Suite or rendering software (e.g. KeyShot) is advantageous
- An interest in consumer electronics or accessories as a category
