Join our team as an Industrials Integration Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in bringing autonomous haulage and heavy equipment platforms to life in the mining industry. You will be responsible for the integration of drive-by-wire, sensors, compute, and networking on large off-road vehicles, leading the vehicle bring-up and commissioning process. This position requires a strong background in vehicle, robotics, or embedded systems integration, as well as proficiency in Linux and Python. If you're excited about this role but don't meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway.
Lead the integration of drive-by-wire, sensors, compute, and networking on large off-road vehicles, ensuring successful commissioning of autonomous vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Debug across the hardware/software boundary, including CAN/J1939, Ethernet, time synchronization, and sensor drivers, to resolve integration issues.
- Plan and execute brake, steering, and system-level test campaigns that support functional safety and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- 2+ years in vehicle, robotics, or embedded systems integration
- Willingness to travel and work onsite at industrial locations for short periods
- Working knowledge of vehicle networks (CAN/J1939) and Ethernet-based sensor and compute architectures
- Experience integrating and bringing up robotic, autonomous, or embedded vehicle systems
- Strong systems debugging skills across electrical, networking, and software layers
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in Linux and Python, with the ability to read and modify C++
- Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles
- Familiarity with steer-by-wire or brake-by-wire systems and related standards (e.g. ISO 3450, ISO 5010)
- Experience with autonomy in the industrials domain
Preferred
- Experience working with embedded compute platforms
- Experience with ROS or similar robotics middleware
- Exposure to functional safety processes for autonomous or mining equipment
