Senior Software Engineer (Customer Platform)

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform team, you will design and build customer-facing backend services and public APIs, collaborating closely with Product Management and the Experience team. You will own features end-to-end, create technical design documents, and contribute to a product-driven roadmap. Design and build backend services and APIs used across multiple product lines, ensuring they work well for all customer segments.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end, from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration, in close partnership with Product Management and the Experience team.
• Contribute to a product-driven roadmap with real deadlines and clear outcomes, helping the team prioritize tradeoffs and ship iteratively.

Requirements

• Proven ability to thrive in a remote startup environment, working independently, handling ambiguity, and adapting to a fast-paced, high-intensity culture
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with product managers, designers, and engineers across multiple product lines
• Proficiency with Go or strong readiness to ramp up quickly; the team writes everything in Go and expects you to learn it quickly
• Experience designing, implementing, and evolving public APIs consumed externally and internally across multiple products or services, including real-world experience with versioning, backwards compatibility, authentication, and usability
• Strong backend engineering experience, with 5+ years of experience building production services and APIs in a modern cloud environment
• Familiarity with microservices and cloud-native architectures, including containers and Kubernetes, and with building observable and resilient production services

Preferred

• Experience in the cloud-native, containers, or security ecosystem, or with tools in the broader CNCF space
• Prior experience building platform or shared services that span multiple products or customer experiences
• Meaningful open-source contributions, especially as a maintainer or regular contributor to relevant projects
