Senior Software Engineer

EnergyHub, a leading company in the energy industry, as a Senior Software Engineer. You will be part of the Devices Team, responsible for the creation and lifecycle management of IoT devices used to balance the power grid. Your primary focus will be to integrate any Distributed Energy Resource (DER) into our platform, ensuring scalability and flexibility. You will design and implement core platform features, lead technical initiatives, develop front and back end solutions, and collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and stakeholders. Design and implement core platform features that solve for multiple constraints and use cases, and help drive the transition from a monolithic architecture to a microservices-based approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical initiatives and provide data modeling, contract definition, and API development, while developing front and back end solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, internal engineering teams, and stakeholders to drive high-impact projects, and mentor and support other engineers.
• Strong full-stack development experience, including frontend, backend, and relational database modeling and development

Requirements

• Ability to operate independently, help provide technical vision and guide the team toward scalable solutions
• Proven expertise in building dynamic, responsive user interfaces using React and TypeScript
• Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI tools in development and testing to accelerate delivery and enhance code quality
• Experience with web services, gRPC/RESTful APIs, and contract-driven development
• Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and working on challenging technical problems
• Proficiency in React and Java (preferably Java 11+)
• Strong problem-solving skills, capable of balancing multiple use cases while enabling flexibility

7+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Asynchronous messaging (SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ), MongoDB, AWS, Datadog, and Robot Framework
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality, iterative value while maintaining execution speed

Preferred

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices
• Experience or familiarity with energy industry
