Forward Deployed Engineer

Join Shield AI as a Forward Deployed Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in deploying our Hivemind software in real-world environments. You'll work closely with customers to understand their requirements, provide technical expertise and support during deployment, and ensure successful integration of Hivemind. You'll also collaborate with internal engineering teams to develop and test new autonomy capabilities. This role requires approximately 30% travel for on-site customer support.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to understand their requirements and provide technical expertise during the deployment of Hivemind software.
• Work closely with internal engineering teams to develop and test new autonomy capabilities, and assist in pre-sales and post-sales activities.
• Become an expert user of the Hivemind enterprise software stack, provide technical support and training to customers, and help debug software/API integration issues.

Requirements

Strong proficiency in writing modern C++ code

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 2+ years of industry experience, OR
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 1+ years of industry experience
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong technical background in software engineering
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience operating in a fast-paced, startup-like, environment
• Prior experience as a customer-facing solutions engineer, application engineer, or sales engineer

Preferred

• Advanced technical degree, especially in robotics or autonomy related fields
