Azure Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Platform Engi neer in Hoofddorp to design, build, and scale self-service Azure capabilities and platform products for internal DevOps teams. You will be instrumental in improving the developer experience—making Azure services easier, safer, and faster to consume while embedding robust security, compliance, policy, identity, networking, and governance controls. Joining the Azure Business Support Team, you will collaborate with cross-functional architecture and engineering teams to deliver enterprise-scale cloud solutions, drive platform modernization through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated CI/CD pipelines, and operate reliable, observable platform services.

Responsibilities

• You Will Do Architect Enterprise Solutions: Design and implement enterprise-scale landing zones following Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
• Develop self-service Azure capabilities, reusable platform products, templates, APIs, and integration patterns for internal teams.
• Modernize platforms utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, ARM, Bicep, and PowerShell.
• Build, automate, and manage deployment pipelines utilizing Azure Pipelines and YAML.
• Configure, manage, and enforce strict Azure Policies and governance controls across all environments.
• Oversee and optimize Microsoft core Azure services, including AKS, Azure VMs, Azure Networking, Azure Monitor, Azure AD & IAM, Azure SQL, and Databricks.
• Work closely with DevOps, development, and architecture teams using an automation-first mindset to deliver seamless cloud solutions.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale landing zones following Microsoft’s CAF and enforcing Azure Policies and governance controls.
• Strong expertise in managing and building Azure Pipelines using YAML.
• Proven ability to build self-service Azure capabilities, reusable platform products, templates, APIs, and integration patterns.

• Core Azure Services: Strong knowledge across Microsoft core Azure services, including AKS, VMs, Azure Networking, Azure Monitor, Azure AD & IAM, Azure SQL, and Databricks.
• Hands-on experience with automation and IaC tools like Terraform, ARM, Bicep, and PowerShell.
• An automation-first mindset with excellent written/verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate smoothly with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, alongside at least 7 years of experience in Azure engineering or a related discipline.
• Highly preferred Microsoft Azure certifications including Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AZ-104 (Administrator), AZ-400 (DevOps Expert), and AZ-204 (Developer).

• Prior hands-on software development or programming background to complement infrastructure automation work.
