Engineering Lead

WhyHireWrong?

Role An Engineering Lead will establish and lead the Warsaw engineering hub for an AI-native platform serving aerospace, defense, and industrial supply-chain operations. They will build and manage a full-stack engineering team, set technical direction, maintain delivery standards, and remain close enough to the code and architecture to make high-quality engineering decisions. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring five days per week in Warsaw and occasional international travel. Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and develop a Warsaw-based engineering team of approximately 10 engineers.
  • Own hiring plans, technical interviews, onboarding, performance management, and team development.
  • Lead delivery of full-stack SaaS products used internationally across operationally complex supply-chain workflows.
  • Define and maintain engineering standards for architecture, code quality, testing, observability, security, and deployment.
  • Work hands-on with TypeScript, Svelte, PostgreSQL, APIs, and distributed SaaS systems when technical decisions or delivery risks require direct intervention.
  • Partner with founders and product stakeholders to convert business requirements into sequenced technical plans and shipped outcomes.
  • Establish delivery processes that provide clear ownership, predictable execution, and early visibility into technical risks.
  • Review system designs and major pull requests, ensuring solutions are maintainable, secure, testable, and appropriate for production scale.
  • Drive effective use of AI coding tools across the team, including defining practical standards for adoption, review, testing, and responsible use.
  • Coordinate with international teams and stakeholders, including up to one week of international travel per quarter. Required experience
  • 10+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering people-management experience.
  • Experience directly leading an engineering team of approximately 10 people.
  • Proven ownership of internationally deployed SaaS products in production.
  • Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and modern full-stack web development.
  • Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and production API development.
  • Experience setting engineering standards across architecture, testing, code review, deployment, and operational reliability.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Warsaw five days per week.
  • Willingness to relocate to Warsaw if not already based there. Technical environment
  • TypeScript.
  • Svelte or an equivalent modern frontend framework.
  • PostgreSQL or another production relational database.
  • Full-stack SaaS architecture.
  • Internationally deployed applications.
  • AI coding tools integrated into engineering workflows. Success measures
  • A Warsaw engineering team is hired, onboarded, and operating with clear ownership.
  • The team delivers production SaaS functionality against agreed priorities and timelines.
  • Engineering standards are consistently applied across code review, testing, architecture, deployment, and incident response.
  • Product reliability, maintainability, and delivery predictability improve as the Warsaw hub scales.
  • AI coding tools improve engineering throughput without reducing code quality, security, or review standards.
  • Technical decisions support international customers and operationally complex workflows.
