Safety Intern

Are you a detail-oriented student interested in workplace safety and gaining hands-on experience in the utility industry? AECI is offering a paid Safety Internship at our Headquarters in Springfield, MO, for Summer 2027 ! This full-time summer opportunity provides hands-on experience supporting safety initiatives across AECI. You may also have the opportunity to travel to our power plant locations and potentially receive course credit* while gaining valuable real-world experience.

Responsibilities

• Safety Audits: Participate in safety compliance audits at AECI plant locations.
• Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring and chemical inventory activities at AECI plant locations.
• Assist with safety permitting and chemical inventory management software.
• Help organize safety events and training activities.
• Assist with personal protective equipment inventory and fit testing.

Requirements

• Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational and analytical skills.

What We’re Looking For

• Students currently enrolled in an Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, or related program .
• Willingness to learn and work with employees across different locations.

Plant Experience

Travel to AECI plant locations for work assignments as needed.

Additional Projects
