Data & Backend Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Develop backend services and REST APIs.
  • Build data-ingestion pipelines from APIs, databases, files and telemetry systems.
  • Design relational schemas and normalized data models.
  • Implement data validation, timestamp normalization, duplicate handling and quality checks.
  • Build historical and scheduled data-processing workflows.
  • Maintain traceability between source data and processed results.
  • Implement authentication, logging, auditability and error handling.
  • Write automated unit and integration tests and collaborate with AI/ML and domain engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience developing backend applications.
  • Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
  • Experience with ETL/data-processing workflows.
  • Understanding of database design, data validation and time-series data.
  • Git, automated testing and good written and spoken English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Adaptable, with a strong desire to learn and take on new challenges
  • Open to feedback, collaboration and continuous learning

Preferred

  • FastAPI and PostgreSQL.
  • Asynchronous Python and background processing.
  • Kafka, NiFi or similar integration technologies.
  • Prometheus/time-series databases, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
  • OAuth2/OpenID Connect and OpenAPI.
  • Telecommunications, OSS/NMS or telemetry systems.
