Lead AIOps Architect

thoughtworks

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical solution architecture for AIOps engagements, designing pragmatic, production-ready solutions that balance technical constraints, cost-efficiency, performance, and security.
  • Deeply engage in building and implementing AIOps solutions, PoCs, and accelerators (across observability, intelligent alerting, AI-assisted triage, RCA, knowledge retrieval, and runbook automation) by writing production-quality code.
  • Design and build data pipelines, tool integrations, and agentic workflows connecting observability, ITSM, and collaboration platforms into cohesive, automated flows.
  • Design and operate evaluation/testing pipelines for AI/LLM components, establishing baselines/guardrails for accuracy, latency, cost, and reliability.
  • Act as an AIOps advisor to client teams, assessing operational maturity, translating pain points into concrete use cases, and defining measurable outcomes (e.g., MTTR/MTTD reduction).
  • Support technical scoping, estimations, and high-level solution design for proposals, Statements of Work (SoWs), and discovery workshops.
  • Clearly articulate architectural choices, technical trade-offs, and integration strategies to technical stakeholders and engineering leads.

Requirements

  • Deep experience architecting and implementing AIOps solutions, with proficiency in writing clean, production-quality code (such as Python) for integrations and automation.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and influence architectural decisions across distributed engineering teams.

Engineering Excellence

Champion Thoughtworks engineering best practices, including clean code, TDD, CD, IaC, and strong observability within project teams.

Technical Advisory

  • Provide deep technical domain expertise to sales and account teams to qualify opportunities and assess technical feasibility.
  • Act as the technical bridge between global DAMO AIOps teams and regional projects, ensuring global accelerators and tools are applied and contextualized locally.

Responsible Use of AI in Recruitment

At Thoughtworks, we use AI tools to support our recruitment team with administrative tasks such as drafting communications, scheduling interviews and writing job descriptions.

Crucially, our AI tools do not screen, assess, rank or make hiring decisions. Every application is reviewed by our team and all selection decisions are made exclusively by our interviewers and hiring managers.

We are committed to fairness and responsible AI. We actively manage our AI systems by testing, monitoring for biased outcomes and implementing mitigation measures. We hold our third-party vendors to these same high standards through a rigorous governance process. For additional information, please see our full
